  中科院北方资源植物重点实验室

中国科学院北方资源植物重点实验室是在成立于2007年的能源植物研发中心的基础上,依托植物所在资源植物基础研究和应用开发方面的长期积累,整合相关研究领域的核心力量而成立的院级重点实验室。资源植物重点实验室以我国北方丰富的植物资源为研究对象,发挥植物所多学科交叉的优势,系统开展资源植物的收集、保存、研究和开发利用;重点研究和培育适合于在我国非耕地上生产的特色经济、能源和生态修复植物。解决我国在资源植物发掘与利用方面的重大科学问题,积极推动国家生物经济的升级与发展,满足国家在能源、环境和食物方面的重大需求;培养一批资源植物基础和应用研究方面的优秀人才。

实验室研究内容主要包括:(1)以中国北方为重点,开展温带资源植物的收集、引种驯化和资源评价;建立和完善资源植物种质库和基本信息数据库。(2)研究重要资源植物类群适应胁迫环境的遗传和分子生物学机制,揭示其产量、品质、及功能性化合物的形成机理,探索新作物驯化培育的理论及实验体系。(3)通过引种驯化以及传统和分子育种,培育新作物和新品种;形成新种质、新基因及产业化关键技术的专利群;建立产业示范基地,加强产学研结合,促进知识产权转化,实现社会经济效益。

实验室现有14个研究组,21名研究员。其中包括国家“千人计划”入选者1名,国家杰出青年基金获得者1名,中科院“百人计划”入选者7名。现任学术委员会主任为邓秀新院士,实验室主任为桑涛研究员。

 The Key Laboratory of Plant Resources,Institute of Botany, CAS, was established on the basis of the Center for Energy Plant Research and Development. It relies on the long-term accumulation and integration of research expertise and strength in the area of plant resource development within the institute. Taking advantage of the multidisciplinary research capacity, the laboratory will systematically collect, preserve, study, and exploit the plant resources. It will emphasize the research and development of economically and ecologically valuable plants, especially those suitable for growing on non-cropland of China. The laboratory intends to address important scientific questions concerning discovery and exploitation of plant resources, help developing and elevating the country’s bioeconomy, and meet the country’s major needs in energy, environment, and food security.

The major research themes of the key laboratory include: (1) collect, introduce, and evaluate temperate plant resources especially in northern China; establish and improve germplasm collection and database. (2) For economically important plant groups, study the genetic and molecular basis for stress resistance, understand the mechanisms of high yield and high quality and the formation of functional compounds, and explore the theoretical and experimental systems for new crop domestication. (3) Develop new crops and new varieties through introduction, domestication, and conventional and molecular breeding; obtain patents on new germplasm, new genes, and key technologies for production; establish production demonstration bases, tighten the connection between research and industry, encourage the commercialization of intellectual properties, and realize the economical and societal values of research.

The key laboratory currently consists of 14 research groups, 21 professors. The laboratory included 1 faculty member recruited by the National “Thousand Talents program”, 1 member honored by the NSFC young Investigator Award, and 7 members recruited by the CAS “Hundred Talents Program”. Academician Xiuxin Deng is the president of the academic committee, and the Director of the key laboratory is Professor Tao Sang.
